I exclusively offer translation services from French and Spanish into English. Professional translators only work into their native language but if you are looking for translations into another language or in a different field of expertise, I would be happy to put you in touch with a linguist from my network of trusted colleagues.
I usually offer clients a price per project. I look at each text individually to determine the complexity of the subject matter, how much research is necessary, and whether any formatting needs doing. Unless your document is for information only, the quote will always include proofreading by another translator. Project prices are based on my hourly rate of £40, which is also my minimum fee per project.
If you’d like more information on purchasing translation services, I’d highly recommend the following guides, published by the Institute of Translation and Interpreting:
My payment terms are 30 days, and invoices are sent at the end of the month.
My daily translation output ranges between 1,000 and 2,500 words depending on the project. Turnaround time will also depend on my availability. The more notice you can provide me with, the more likely I’ll be able to block out time for your project. If you’d like to find out how long a specific job will take, please contact me for a free, no-obligation quote.
Please consult my terms and conditions here
For each assignment, I’ll need you to send me the text(s) for translation, specify the delivery format (whether you'd like me to return your text in a Word file, PDF, PPT, etc.) and tell me who the text is for, so that I can adapt it accordingly. Any additional information you can provide is always useful, for example any reference materials, glossaries/terminology lists or company style guides.
If you have an urgent deadline, let me know and I’ll do my best to turn your project around swiftly. Please note, for ‘rush jobs’ a 20% surcharge will apply. This also applies to evening and weekend work.
